Humanity is a Human problem

We all are aware that conditions of humans are deteriorating due to the Global impacts of COVID infection. But Is humanity also declining? This is the question we all should raise to the point where we hesitate- to help our neighbors, to guide the lost one, to support the poor, to buy from small traders, to care elderly, and to feed animals, only to fear getting infected. We know infection is dangerous, but the fading away of humanity, is even more danger. It’s not shocking that we’re insensitive to the alerts of global warming, rising sea levels, widespread forest fires that kills innocent animals, deforestation, soil erosion, and so on. And now the human problems also seem unimportant for us. Do we realize where humans are leading? Even the ideology of unity, morality, brotherhood, and harmony seems insufficient in the face of humanity’s deteriorating state. With all this, we are only inviting trouble to our generation ahead.

It is high time now we understand, support and try to resolve the cause of others instead of turning our back to someone’s misfortunes. After nature, it is humans who could create, destroy and preserve. Letting others to die helplessly is equivalent to destroying. If the quality of destruction becomes dominant in human traits, then nobody could prevent from future havoc.

It’s a call to all of us to recognize our inner humanity and do whatever we can to save others from dying hopelessly.

Existential Stress

Meanwhile, the global community is working hard to improve survival rates. One’s attention should be drawn back to the existential scale. Existence comes with purpose. If we haven’t yet considered the reason for our existence, we should do so before time runs out. It is moment now to bring people aware of the Nietzschean greatest statement, “God is dead”. The declaration that awoke the masses from their grief and gave them hope to look back on a jumbled past and envision a meaningful future ahead. In this pandemic period, I’ve been reading stories of people losing their loved ones and being in a complete state of paranoia about ‘what to do next?’. The emotional stress and resistance they are experiencing is causing them to miss out on their life’s purpose. In this devastating time, it is difficult to give life a positive purpose. But I’ve also seen some great souls who, in the aftermath of tragedy, instantly called attention to ongoing losses and became instruments for preventing others from being victims. This is the symbol of great spirit, the element of divinity that resides within each of us. It manifests itself in specific circumstances, but if we make a conscious effort to recognize the one inside us, we can be able to add light to the world of darkness. The only aim of this article is to focus on the existential problem that must be rediscovered, as well as upon the current stress that must be identified, and a mission that must be established in order to make life valuable and worthwhile for those around us.

That unpredictability deep within

“Sometimes I act out so loud, weird, and in an unpredictable way, that I really don’t know who is acting from within.” Do you also feel same, sometimes? Then, you could go on reading further. This article might help you to find reason behind all such dilemmas.

‘Know thyself’ is the philosophy that has shaken the root of all existential and cosmic science. Through deeper understanding of self, one could know the bigger secrets of cosmos. It sounds so simple that all theories and knowledge accumulation fails before this fact. So well, do we know self?

To understand ‘self’ better, it’s most important to know the cause of self. The cause of self or actual source of its appearance is based on what you feed to it. It goes same like ‘you are what you feed yourself’. A man staring at mobile screen 24/7 is most likely to forget his marriage anniversary as his most attention is taken by that mini screen. Even if he gets reminder set in his phone, then also he could not do anything about anniversary, as his attention was still rooted to screen. This is the saddest reality. We believe that things will be better for us as we desire. But our desire is ever changing. As we expect one desire to be met, hundred other desires are already queued up. So, the man may know that his anniversary is today, and then he might also know that he has to finish office task, drop an urgent mail, watch his favorite episode, win a game challenge, and so on.

In a day, we send thousands of signals to brain through the act of multiple activity in our day-to-day life. In all this, sometimes we put love, commands, respect, hate, anger, frustration, compassion, confessions, and so forth.  For this reason, there are times when we don’t know how to react, and then the brain processes the latest reaction to that particular situation. And yes, in a situation when a lady doesn’t know how to react to a marriage proposal from his colleague, she may shout at it, because her day was spoilt. Or she may accept the proposal because she carries the same feelings for him.

So, feeding right food to self is very important. You feed anger and it reveals your angriness. You feed compassion and it reveals your kindness. You feed doubt and it reveals suspicious character, you feed knowledge and it reveals wisdom, and so on.

Therefore, that unpredictability is not really what you are not thinking or what you are not aware of. That unpredictability is the element you release into your inner being, sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. The unpredictability is the reaction to your unintended action. It is the outcome for which you have never purposefully written exams. It is the amalgamation of your old thoughts to put out to a new situation.

Your thought is your food. Pay attention the next time you bring some kind of thought into your mind and watch how it gets processed and emerges spontaneously in a new and unfamiliar situation. A young boy was leaving home for school when he overheard the word “characterless” from his parents’ quarrel, in which his mother was saying the same thing to his father. When he was asked to describe his father at school, he began by saying all the positive things he knew about him, such as handsome, supportive, and courageous, before finally spitting out the new word “characterless,” much to the dismay of his teachers and the amusement of his classmates.

That unpredictability within us is not coming out of nowhere, perhaps it’s our own invention or selection. So, be careful in feeding your thoughts, as it soon becomes action, and then reaction, and then humiliation, negation, tension, and suffocation.

This Time will pass too!

This article is for all those who are feeling negativity around, hearing death numbers, watching distressed people out there, thinking for universal wellness, learning about the days when things were good and stress-free. To all of those people, just sit tight in your seat and remember that life is a roller coaster, and right now we are plummeting in altitude, so we are experiencing pain, anxiety, fear, uncertainty, distress, and unhappiness. This is the moment we don’t want to see, so we’ve closed our eyes as we go towards the uneven path of life. Once we cross all the dangers around, life will become better. And so just experience it once, or you could either shut your eyes, and be in your own zone, praying for Universal wellbeing, and you will see the moment will pass soon.

God is not so mean. It is testing us so we could evolve into a better being. We are facing all such hard circumstances as a reminder to the fact that we aren’t yet prepared to face the worst in future. Sufferings are part of life, Buddha says. As a condition, we should not be fearful of the sufferings we are facing. When a big tide comes crashing down on a beach, those who are standing closer to the water’s edge are washed across first, followed by those who are sitting and relaxing on the beach benches. And today also, person who are outside, and very close to dangers around, are falling victim earlier. Anyway, it’s not their fault. They are carrying out their responsibilities to ensure that everyone is safe at home, that economic resources are handled, that food is produced, that mobility for those in need is possible, that people are healed sooner, and that the world is managed.

It’s a tribute to all people who gave up their time, strength, peace of mind, and even life, so that other humans could be protected against the evil around. We assure all such brave hearts that their sacrifice would not go waste. Now people have understood the urgency of current situation. And they won’t do anything which would trigger the severity of conditions. With this message, I would end up this article, and would ask you to just think of the toughest exams, emotional breakups, climate disasters, floods, poverty, and so on. How quickly it passed into some other moment of happiness or pride, satisfaction or frustration, vacation or struggles, and so forth. So, everybody, just close your eyes and say, “This time, too, will pass!” with absolute confidence, belief, and unending trust in ultimate being.
